**Responsibilities**:
- Assist the EOHSS Team to promote a positive Health & Safety culture across the business
- Provide effective support to the EOHSS Team on all aspects of EHS work
- Support the site implementation of EOHSS Standards to ensure compliance with company & legal requirements
- Ensure that all departments adequately document all relevant EHS records to demonstrate compliance
- Assist site Departments with reviewing Risk Assessments & Method Statements and answering any EHS related queries
- Attend regular meetings with departments to drive continual EHS improvement
- Provide EHS support across the business, including maintaining & organising EHS training programmes and records
- Work closely with the EHS team to assist with the management of EOHSS Standards & Governance documents across the site
- Support the EOHSS team on regular internal audit and inspection programs and communicate performance (metrics/KPIs) across the Site
- Engage with key stakeholders including contractors & customers
- Maintain and continually improve the EHS Management System and maintenance of document control processes & standards
- Monitor & review EHS documents to ensure maintenance of all documents
- Compile monthly performance reports (metrics/KPIs) on progress of agreed business objectives
- Perform internal audits in accordance with the related standards and assist with the setting of corrective actions to address the root cause of findings
- Maintain, update and assist in the implementation of continual improvement safety projects
- Ensure that accidents & incidents are documented, investigated and recommend improvements
**Qualifications & Experience**:
- EHS qualification (NEBOSH Certificate or IOSH Manging Safely)
- First Aid at Work Certificate
- Fire Warden/Marshal Training
- Experience of Laboratory Safe Working Practices & Standards
- Competent Risk Assessor (including COSHH)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and effective at communicating with all levels of the workforce
- Strong understanding of Safety/Chemical Management Systems with their implementation & set-up
- Self-motivated, well-organized and able to work to deadlines
- Strong research and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Prior experience in EHS is desirable
**Job Type**: Temporary contract
**Salary**: £11.00-£15.00 per hour
