Responsible for the provision of good quality nutritious, home cooked food.
Ensures that meals are prepared at the agreed times and at correct temperature.
Ensure that the kitchen area, stores and dining room are maintained in a clean condition at all times.
Assist in the control of the stock and maintains records to ensure storage of food in accordance with Health and Safety standards.
Oversees staff in the kitche area and identifies workloads and organises accordingly.
Ensures the standards, cleanliness and maintenance of the kitchen area and associated equipment and records are kept up to date.
Ensure that all necessary records are maintained such as cleaning schedule, food hygiene records such as cooking temperatures, fridge temperature, food delivery temperatures and hot holding temperature.
Attends staff meetings and training sessions as required.
Be responsible for the adherence to standard operating procedure of equipment and proper use to meet Health and Safety Regulations and other regulations recommended by the Registering Authority.
Be aware of cost control procedures and cost effectiveness.
Performs other related duties, not specifically enumerated in this job description, which may from time to time be assigned by the Manager/Catering Manager.
Responds to individual dietary needs e.g. dysphagia diets, diabetic, low fat, reducing, renal dialysis etc.
