We are seeking an experienced and conscientious handyman for our purpose-built care home in Walton Vale, Liverpool. The home caters for service users with a range of general nursing and mental health needs.

The role will involve a range of general handyman/diy jobs. This could range from replacing a tap to painting and decorating a room. There will also be regular routine checks and audits to complete on a weekly basis. Therefore, a good knowledge of general trade skills is essential. There will also be an element of garden maintenance involved in the role.

Whatever the job, we expect all of our colleagues to be kind and courteous to our service users and to each other.
- Positive and approachable
- Experience in a similar environment/role
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Flexible to work outside of normal contracted hours if required (able to be on-call out of hours)
- Good organisation to complete routine scheduled tasks as well as ad hoc work
- Ability to work in a manner that safeguards the safety of themselves, as well as others
- Follow a programme of scheduled routine maintenance
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems to troubleshoot and fix minor issues as and when they arise
- Full driving license and own car

**Key aspects of the role include**:
Painting and decorating to resident’s bedrooms and common areas

Perform repairs to the home’s equipment and appliance

Ensuring fixtures and fittings are in good working order

Minor plumbing, assembling and moving furniture and equipment

Keeping the external of the building clean and tidy

**Requirements**:
Good experience with painting and decorating

Light plumbing and electrical fittings

Removal of existing carpet flooring and laying out vinyl flooring

Ability to self-motivate and work alone

**We will offer**:
£15 per hour

35 hours per week

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £15.00 per hour
