**Purpose**:
The Leeds United Foundation are delivering an Anti-Social Behaviour Reduction Project, engaging with every year 6 pupil in Leeds City with a choice driven, crime and violence reduction programme comprising of “Spot-light” workshops and focused 6-week development sessions for agreed targeted pupil groups.

“Primary Choices” provides education-based interventions on the impact of crime and violence, providing positive preventative work for children, which will support them in making the right choices to divert them away from violence, harm and exploitation.

**Description**

Due to programme expansion, the Leeds United Foundation is seeking to add to the current team of “Choice Makers” to;
- Develop young people’s skills and personal relationships through the ability to make good choices
- Help young people understand the wide -ranging impact of choices they may make
- Develop children’s understanding of what constitutes criminal activity such as Anti-Social Behaviour
- Develop understanding of how Anti-Social Behaviour can affect victims, families, and the wider community
- Develop knowledge of who, how and where to get support whether in School or external agencies

Educated to degree level or the equivalent, this person will have advanced skills to inspire, motivate and encourage children to make a positive impact through the “Primary Choices” programme. Experience of leading a team and being able to work pro-actively as part of a team is desirable, as well as using their own initiative, this person will be professional, friendly, and approachable. A creative mind, a listening ear and strong communication, coupled with a good sense of humour and a genuine empathy with the work of the organisation are essential to succeed in the role as “Choice Maker”.

The Leeds United Foundation is a non-profit, sports charity that exists to deliver targeted, high quality programmes that have a real and measurable positive impact on the relationship between the club, its fans and the community.

**Main areas of responsibility**:
Choice Makers will be the main deliverers of the Primary Choices Spotlight and Intense Sessions within Primary Schools

**Principal Actions and Accountability**:

- Maintain the ethos of the organisation by providing a caring, safe, and supportive environment within the delivery of the Primary Choices Programme
- Supporting the Senior Project Officer (SPO) and the organisation to implement the Primary Choices Aims and Objectives.
- To develop and maintain positive relationships with children during delivery of the Primary Choices programme, by using the art of conversation and encouraging participation and involvement in the planned programme.
- To be part of a team of workers that can identify the formal and informal educational, social, cultural and recreational needs of the children engaged within the programme and plan a programme of positive interventions and innovation, that enhances the knowledge, awareness and the personal development of the children.
- To develop relationships with children that allows the promotion of small group work and one to one support, recognising the different needs and starting points of the children.
- Work in collaboration with key partners such as School, wider community organisation and West Yorkshire Police to ensure that the programme fulfils its requirements.
- Ensure Safeguarding is paramount within all sessions and Safeguarding policies and procedures are always adhered to.
- Embed the Foundation’s culture of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion within all sessions
- Ensure sessions are inclusive to all and create an open and honest environment for learning, where participants can express their thoughts and feelings in a safe, controlled environment.
- To support children in evaluating the Primary Choices activities and identifying the impact of the work to build upon.
- To articulate and record children’s progression in recording documentation and support senior staff in providing information for management and funding reporting
- To support the development of provision of the organisation, as well as the creation of additional external projects and activities that support the wider aims of violence reduction.
