**The role**:
**What will you be doing?**:
The role holder will be responsible for the coordination of integrating actions related to climate change into the strategy for the Schools, bringing together elements from both our teaching programme and research themes. Working with the Climate Action Plan (CAP) coordinators, the role holder will ensure that CAP actions are completed as far as possible and will increase staff engagement with sustainable practices. They will work to increase this engagement through education and encouragement, develop carbon management and sustainability plans, baselines and targets, support development of education for sustainable development and coordinate Green Impact and LEAF accreditation for our teaching and research laboratories.
- Relevant qualifications at GCSE, or NVQ level 2/3, or equivalent level, plus relevant work experience; or significant relevant experience.
- Knowledge of and interest in sustainability so they can contribute towards meeting achievable goals around climate change
- Experience of working in/good familiarity of a teaching or research laboratory environment
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to deal with and prioritise a range of ongoing tasks at the same time, and to be able to cope under pressure
- Polite and courteous approach when dealing with others, effective at communication with a wide variety of internal and external contact.

The role is for a fixed term of one year in the first instance, with the potential to extend beyond this. Furthermore, additional paid hours may be available by mutual negotiation when there is excess workload, when there is need for additional specific support.
