**The role**

If you’re passionate, versatile, self-motivated and driven, with a systematic and methodical approach, and would like to work with a fun, friendly but dedicated administrative team, supporting the day-to-day management of our in-house team of Operatives, then join Southern Housing as a Direct Services Team Assistant.

As a part of our Sussex team, based out of Haywood Way in Hastings, you will help us maintain our properties, estates and neighbourhoods by scheduling and supporting our DLO Operatives in works including:

- Fencing Repairs & Installations.
- Void Property Clearances and Minor Property Repairs.
- Bulk Waste / Fly-Tip Collection and Disposal.
- Garden Clearances and Grounds Maintenance.
- Office Maintenance and Repairs.
- Garage Inspections, Lock Changes and Clearances.
- Play Area Repairs.
- Jet Washing and Graffiti Removal.

**The role is office based and we envisage the successful applicant working 08:00 - 16:00, Monday through Friday, though there is some room to negotiate for the right person. The role is being advertised as a Fixed-Term Contract / Secondment until 31st December 2023, with a potential to become permanent in the New Year.**

**What you’ll have**

As part of a tight-knit team, you will be required to work closely with others, supporting colleagues both within Direct Services and other teams across the business. You must be customer focused, having good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with colleagues, partners and in particular, our residents, both verbally and in writing.

You will also need the ability to work alone, be self-motivated and able to solve technical challenges as they arise. Customer Satisfaction is a priority whilst working Efficiently and Productively with Value for Money in mind.

Working safely is paramount and you will require an awareness of, and be required to understand written Risk and CoSHH Assessments; plus the risks involved with the works you will be scheduling.

An excellent level of numeracy and literacy is key, along with the computer skills sufficient to learn and operate in-house systems and technology. A knowledge of standard software packages such as Microsoft Office or similar, with the ability to build and update moderately sophisticated spreadsheets is desired. Previous experience of web-based CRM’s and Scheduling Platforms, plus Orchard, Proactis and Apex would be an advantage, but not essential - the ability to learn these is more important.
