**Job Title**:Café Assistant

**Reports to**:Head of Catering, Deputy Catering Manager and Catering Supervisor

**Duties will include**:

- Responsible for the provision of food to the agreed standard within the budgetary limitations and maintaining high standards in both Hygiene and Health & Safety.
- Ensure College control systems are operating efficiently within the department, taking corrective action where necessary.
- Ensure all foods to be served in the cafe are presented in accordance to College standards. Also ensure all menus/signage are correct to the food being served.
- Monitor the implementation of cleaning schedules, taking remedial action as required.
- Regular checks and ‘walk rounds’ of the café and surrounding areas to maintain noise levels.
- Ensure all temperature checks are carried out and recorded to the standard required to College policies.
- Monitor food handling practices, customer liaison, working methods of staff, and standards of personal hygiene, taking corrective action where necessary.
- Encourage good team moral through good practices.
- Promote a professional image and good customer relations.
- Carry out any reasonable requests made by the management team.
- Attend meetings and training sessions.
- Ensure all security measures and lock up procedures are adhered to.
- Inform Management team of discrepancies in cash takings and stocking levels.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: £13.04 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week
