Solutions Engineer Group Architecture

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Work as part of the architecture team to create detailed technical specifications, adhering to the high-level architectural designs, as well as the detailed requirements.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership of COTS, bespoke and SaaS solutions, to ensure successful delivery.
- Define and maintain detail design standards.
- Work with vendors during solution design and build, and make any technical decisions required to ensure that the delivered solution is functional, performant and supportable.
- Work with build teams to ensure that components are built to the required spec.
- Work with the Test Manager to implement appropriate test frameworks for new solutions and technologies.
- Investigate any complex operational issues and work with the Operations team to identify solutions for Live incidents where necessary.
- Work with IT Security team to ensure all deliverables have appropriate security controls.
- This role will bepart of the Architecture team, and provides a career development opportunity into Solution Architecture.

**What we’re looking for**
**Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience**:

- Experience working with relational databases, e.g. SQL Server, Postgresql, Oracle, DB2, including SQL and some database optimisation.
- Knowledge of basic Windows Server administration.
- Clear written and verbal communication to describe technical designs and issues.
- The ability to confidently challenge internal and external technical team members when necessary.

- Azure
- Containers/Docker/Kubernetes
- Vendor Management
- Stakeholder Management
- Software Development
- Linux and/or IBM i operating systems
- Manufacturing and/or Retail experience
- Experience of ERP, Supply Chain, Integrated Business Planning, HR or Logistics.
