Due to the ever-growing demand of our Schools based counselling service, The Spark are seeking qualified **Children and Young Person Counsellors** to implement short-term counselling within schools across the Central belt of Scotland.

The Spark is one of the biggest providers of school-based counselling services in the country, supporting hundreds of children and young people each year with counselling. Working directly with schools and local authorities, our in-school counselling services help to support the emotional, behavioral, mental, and social health and wellbeing of pupils.

As a School Counsellor with the Spark, no two days will be the same We are looking for a motivated individual with excellent communication skills, who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. You’ll work across several schools providing individual counselling for children and young people and facilitating Groupwork and Workshop delivery within schools. You’ll also work within the organisation’s Child Protection Framework and escalate any determined risk to Supervisor/Clinical Practice as appropriate.

We’re looking for individuals who can offer a minimum of two days a week with us, with an option of working up to 4 days. Our groupwork also means we can offer additional hours when in-demand.

**Please note we predominately cover schools within South and North Lanarkshire so a clean driving license and access to own vehicle as well as the ability to travel across Central Scotland are an essential requirement for this role.**

**Essential Requirements**:

- Recognised counselling qualification
- BACP/COSCA registered member (or member of appropriate professional body)
- Demonstratable experience of working therapeutically with children and young people (placement experience will be considered)
- Experience and understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures
- Clean driving license and access to own vehicle
