This role is to carry out the teaching, learning and assessment of work-based learners completing apprenticeship standards and possible qualifications to enable them to achieve their end point assessment.

The Teaching Assistant Assessor is required to use their up-to-date professional knowledge and skills to support vocational and professional development to learners undertaking Teaching Assistant programmes in an employer setting, and at any level. As anassessor coaching is seen as a complex set of interpersonal skills, it is more learner-centred, exploring the learner’s understanding and needs rather than simply giving advice.

As an assessor you are required to carry out the following duties in the context of the PTS policies and practices, particularly Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety and Data Protection, and those of any host organisations, including informing learnersof their obligations.

To Tutor and Assess the following qualifications;
- Teaching Assistant L3 Standard
- Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning

**Some of your roles and responsibilities will include**:

- To establish good relationships with learners assigned to you, ensuring they are clear about the tasks they have been set and deadlines to meet.
- To be proactive in communicating with learners on a monthly basis and with their workplace managers ensuring all are kept informed of progress.
- To respond to all learners within a 24hour maximum time frame responding to requests in a manner they prefer.
- Advise and support learners in the selection of units and levels, including specifying which aspects of the Standards must be assessed through performance in the workplace where appropriate.
- Provide written declaration that evidence produced is authentic and that any assessment was conducted under specified context or conditions
- Guide and support learners as to required evidence to complete learning programmes and build portfolios.
- Assess learners and provide oral and written feedback directly following assessment or within five working days
- To deliver engaging teaching and learning sessions as needed within the workplace
- To support and coach learners through the apprenticeship standard
- To prepare learners for End Point Assessment
- An Assessing Qualification
- Plan and set goals and to have competent organisational skills.
- Ability to give constructive feedback which enables learners to develop
- Ability to review assessment plans and help learners progress
- Ability to record, monitor and evaluate ongoing experience
- Competent organisational skills
- Model and encourage mutual respect, displaying a deep understanding of equality and diversity, with and between learners, colleagues and appropriate agencies
- Be resilient and adaptable when dealing with challenge and change, maintaining focus and self-control
- Evaluate and improve their own professional practice
- Experience of using a range of IT packages

**Qualifications**:
You are required to hold a current Level 3 CAVA or equivalent and/or a Level 3 Training and Education qualification or equivalent.

This role would be well suited for someone who is currently working as a nursery manager or in a senior position in an early years setting, and is looking to progress into the next step of their career.

**_There is also the requirement to pass an Enhanced DBS check._**

**What do you need to be successful?**
You will be able to plan and set goals using competent organisational skills. You will have the ability to provide constructive feedback alongside reviewing assessment plans to help learners progress and develop through their programme. You will be able torecord, monitor and evaluate ongoing knowledge, skills and behaviours while following PTS confidentiality policy.
