**Operations and Purchasing Administrator**

Operations and Purchasing Administrator (salary £22,000 - £30,000 depending on experience) is needed to join a well-established, prestigious family-run company near Peterborough. Our client urgently needs an Operations and Purchasing Administrator to join their team. You’ll take responsibility for carrying out administrative tasks relating to logistics and purchasing.

This is a role for a strong administrator. If you have an interest in helping a business to run smoothly and have demonstrable experience in operations, procurement and logistics, this could be the role for you.

The job is varied, involving areas such as operations, fleet management, Health & Safety and purchasing. Examples of what the role covers:

- Sourcing and ordering parts, equipment and sundries
- Negotiating terms with suppliers when renewing or setting up new contract
- Negotiating fuel bunker rates and managing company fuel card accounts
- Authorising purchase invoices
- Providing haulage quotations
- Organising external hauliers
- Driving compliance checks
- Organising lorry servicing and inspection dates
- Dealing with roadside breakdowns, accidents and windscreens, liaising with insurance companies
- Overseeing insurance, tax, MOT, repairs and servicing for all company vehicles
- Providing weekly delivery sheets for production staff and Finance Manager to approve for dispatch
- Organising the transport spreadsheet on a daily basis
- Maintaining Health & Safety documents and procedures with control of document review dates

If you have any previous experience of operations or logistics, that would be ideal but not essential as you’ll be taught everything you need to know. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must as well as good Excel skills, the ability to work to deadlines and be organised and methodical in your approach. You will be able to work as part of a team as well as independently and will be working closely with the Operations Manager.

Any knowledge or experience of Health & Safety is desirable but not essential.

This is a full-time Monday to Friday role based in the office.
