Hinckley, United Kingdom Aspris Full time

**There is no better time to start a career within our maintenance team than now**

Would you like secure employment where you can progress your career?

Sketchley Hall School are recruiting for a Maintenance Assistant to join their maintenance team. We are looking for a passionate handyperson, who will carry out reactive day-to-day maintenance issues within the site and their grounds. You will also assist in supporting our other homes in the community, liaising with contractors when on site and ad-hoc requests from management as and when necessary.

**Our benefits include exclusive access to reward and discount scheme, comprehensive induction, commitment to your ongoing training and career progression, pension scheme, paid for enhanced DBS, wellbeing support, cycle to work scheme and more**

Sketchley Schools consist of three sites - Sketchley Hall in Burbage, Forest House in Narborough and Progression House in Hinckley. We offer day schools for children aged 8 to 19 years with severe to mild autistic spectrum disorder and associated learning difficulties. We now have a full-time vacancy within our Maintenance Team.

**The role**:
Under the direction of the Maintenance Manager, this role involves working closely within a small maintenance team, providing general maintenance around our three sites. This includes repairs and Health & Safety checks, along with vehicle checks and refuelling. As key holder you will also be responsible for either opening up at one of the sites in the mornings or locking up another site at the end of the day, as required.
- You will be highly skilled, conscientious and hardworking, reliable and proactive
- Experience in a similar role or setting would be valuable, but is not essential
- You should also be flexible in your start and finish times (although core hours will be agreed there may be occasions where these might change due to business need) and be willing to assist your colleagues when required.

Please note, whilst we are a school, this role is not term time only, as you will be required to be on site throughout school holidays, meaning annual leave can be agreed with your line manager, not specifically in school holidays.

Aspris is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All applicants must be willing to undergo safeguarding screening appropriate to the post, including checks with Disclosure & Barring Service/Disclosure Scotland and at least 2 references which cover the last 3 years; for all our services we will request references from where you have worked with either Children or Vulnerable Adults. Please be advised that references may be requested prior to interview for roles within our Schools.
