The Clinical Fellow will be responsible for the initial assessment and management of unselected acutely ill and injured patients of all ages. They will help to train and supervise more junior doctors. Emergency Medicine Clinical Fellows (with a special interest in Medical Education)

**Salary**: £51,017.00 Per Annum

OUH NHS foundation Trust are now recruiting for a middle grade clinical fellows with a special interest in Medical Education, to work at the John Radcliffe hospital, Oxford and Horton General Hospital, Banbury Emergency departments. This offers a unique opportunity to work cross site in a major trauma centre and a localised DGH. **The Clinical Fellow will be responsible for**:

- Writing accurate and contemporaneous notes on the Electronic Patient Record.
- Endorsing (electronically) any results generated during a patient encounter.
- Writing a brief but relevant discharge letter for all patients.
- Arranging appropriate follow up where required.

**1. General**:
The Clinical Fellow will be required to work within the Trust's management policies and procedures, both statutory and internal, accepting that the resources available to the Trust are finite and that all changes in clinical practice or workload, or developments requiring additional resources must have prior agreement with the Trust.

To gain experience working in Emergency Medicine in both a busy Major Trauma Centre and a smaller local hospital.

To use protected and paid specialist interest time to develop skills, undertake research or obtain additional qualifications in the field of Medical Education under the supervision of an EM Consultant with significant experience in this area.

The 20% specialist interest time can be used flexibly by the appointee but needs to be accountable to the Supervisor. The time can be used to develop innovative projects and help run existing teaching sessions within the Emergency Medicine placement of the University of Oxford Medical School. It can also be used to support teaching projects for doctors or other groups depending on the appointee’s development plan.
