**Salary**:£25,000 - £35,000 depending on experience

**Hours**: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 8am - 4.30pm & Friday 8am - 2:30pm

**Benefits**: 25 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays (33 days) on-site parking

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Buyer who would like to progress in their career with a well-established manufacturing company in Ferndown.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has worked in purchasing within a manufacturing environment and enjoys learning about how products are built.

These products are at the forefront of technology and are being used by small and large companies around the world.

As a buyer you will be buying materials and parts from a list of suppliers to meet manufacturing needs and also sourcing new suppliers to meet special project builds.

Reporting in to the Senior Buyer and Operations Director, you will work together on ensuring materials are in place for manufacturing projects, this will involve purchasing products from new and existing suppliers, negotiating prices and high quality, and making sure all deliveries are on time.

**Key responsibilities within this role will include**:

- Purchasing components and subassemblies for current and forecasted demand
- Negotiation of prices with suppliers
- Ensuring the high quality of purchased parts
- Coordination of vendors to ensure purchase orders have correct price, freight charge, and delivery date
- Following-up with vendors on back-orders and notifying operations of impacts to project ship dates
- Communicating with vendors when purchase orders are due to be received to ensure they are on track, updating the relevant Project team on outcome.
- Monitoring work in progress and coordinating with the production team to resolve issues with open work orders
- Working closely with the Senior Buyer and Operations Director to evaluate new vendors, parts, and materials
- Working with the production team as required to outsource partnerships for volume parts during peak production
- Contributing to a supplier evaluation system and coordinate with vendors to help improve their performance
- Working with the sales team to provide vendors forecasting information

**The successful applicant will possess**:

- Previous experience within a Buying / Procurement / Purchasing or Supply Chain position is essential
- Previous manufacturing environment experience
- Eagerness to progress and
- Ability to source, negotiate and build relationships with new and existing suppliers
- Strong written communication and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- A methodical approach to problem solving and making decisions
- Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft products
