Humberside Police are looking for a Researcher to work within the heart of Intelligence within the Force, assisting with both strategic and tactical intelligence products to support operational policing. In this role you will interrogate, maintain, extract and communicate information from a wide range of intelligence systems and information databases, to support operational activity under the direction of the Intelligence Unit.

**In this role, you will**:

- Plan and conduct research within previously agreed parameters.
- Assist in the analysis of information/intelligence.
- Collates and summarises the information and or intelligence so as appropriate for the audience in either written or verbal format.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of systems.
- Responding to internal and external requests for information in an efficient and appropriate manner.
- Maintains awareness and contributes to achieving the aims of the Force Control Strategy and Force Intelligence Requirement and all other National Intelligence Model processes in Force.
- Interrogates available systems whilst ensuring compliance with all relevant policy and legislation and maintaining a sound working knowledge of systems.
- Receives and initiates communication in connection with requests for information, liaises with external and internal sources in order to facilitate the collection and sharing of data ensuring that all information exchanged is accurate and relevant and in line with relevant legislation and policy and directs for action to the relevant team where necessary.

**What is required?**
- Previous experience in a research environment interrogating systems, administrative skills, multi-tasking, etc.
- An awareness of confidential information sharing.
- Computer literate, including working knowledge of MS Office products.
- Well-developed listening skills and questioning techniques.
- Well-developed communication skills in order to relay clear, concise information to enquirers and colleagues at all levels.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to develop positive working relationships and gain credibility.
- Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks undertaken.
