Gunstones Bakery is currently recruiting for an experienced and driven HSE Lead to support our busy manufacturing site during a time of growth and development.

**About the Role**:
Reporting into the General Manager, the HSE Lead will provide directional support to the Business in the Planning, Measuring, Reviewing, and auditing of Environment, Health & Safety activities to meet legal requirements.

The position will be expected set minimum standards of Environment, Health & Safety Practices where needed and advise management of best practices within the industry. As HSE Manager you will act as a direct manager for an HSE Advisor as well as providing support and guidance to the SLT team on related issues.

It is a busy, fast paced manufacturing environment offering plenty of variety and challenge. This is an excellent opportunity for an established HSE professional to make their mark on an industry leading site.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Ensuring all health, safety and environmental policies and standards are maintained across the site, driving compliance, and promoting a ‘safety first’ culture.
- Developing strong working relationships with other managers, proactively supporting them to ensure they and their teams follow best practice and minimise risks.
- Reviewing, auditing, and assessing HSE activities to ensure legal compliance and identify areas for improvement.
- Keeping up to date with all relevant legislation and ensuring this is communicated to the business.

**About You**:
To excel in this HSE Lead role you will need to demonstrate:

- Prior experience in a lead position within HSE, ideally in food production or a high volume/FMCG manufacturing environment.
- NEBOSH Diploma (CMIOSH would be preferred).
- Demonstrable experience of delivering HSE improvements and working collaboratively with other managers and stakeholders to raise standards.
- Proven experience in a leadership position within HSE.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work with and influence and challenge colleagues at all levels.
- Experience of Environmental related issues and legislation.
