We are looking for a passionate and proactive Engagement and Communications Co-Ordinator to help us achieve these goals.

As a Engagement and Communications Co-Ordinator, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing programs and initiatives that engage and support young people across Gwynedd Council. You will work closely with youth, local organisations, and other stakeholders to create a vibrant and inclusive environment where young voices are heard and valued.

**Essential**:
A degree in Youth Work or another discipline relating to Youth.

Welsh and English GCSE.

**Desirable**:
NVQ Level 4 or equivalent in a field relevant to the post, such as marketing, administration, media, communication

Registered with the Education Workforce Council as a Youth Worker.

Other qualifications of relevance to Youth Work

**Relevant experience**:
**Essential**:
Experience of consultative and participatory processes in work with various groups of young people.

Experience of planning, developing and presenting consultation events and activities.

A firm understanding of young people's participation needs.

A firm understanding of young people's rights/matters

**Desirable**:
Experience of producing reports, including financial reports, that reflect operational targets and using key data and statistics to steer progress and planning.

Experience of planning and developing materials that are friendly for young people such as interpreting strategies and plans.

Practical knowledge of the National Participation Standards.

Knowledge of health and safety procedures in a youth workplace.

**Skills and specialist knowledge**:

Ability to write accurately and clearly in Welsh and English

Commitment to include young people in decision making processes at every level within Cyngor Gwynedd

Ability to use a computer and ⁠having mastered basic programmes, e.g., Microsoft Office

Understanding of various social media, and the ability to use them to target a young audience

**Purpose of the post**:

- Ensure that the people of Gwynedd are at the heart of everything we do.
- Assist the training officer with the work of developing and implementing plans for communication, engagement and marketing of Council services.
- To assist, liaise and supervise internal and external communications for the Department together with the Corporate Communications Unit. ⁠
- Develop a full range of publicity and marketing materials to improve the Department's internal and external communications.
- Responsible for supporting the engagement and participation of young people across Gwynedd
