Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Purchaser to join our clients team. As a Purchaser, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials, products, and services across Asia & Europe that are necessary for our clients operations. This is a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of their supply chain and logistics. Reporting into the Group Purchasing Manager and supporting another UK Purchaser and Purchasing Assistant.
**Responsibilities**:
- Process purchase orders which are system generated.
- Managing the orders.
- Process and confirm sales contracts.
- Communicate with Shipping agents/clearing agents.
- Work with supply base looking for cost reductions and maintain system pricing.
- Dealing with suppliers, managing dispatch dates, ensuring stock is arriving within the agreed time, stock availability maintained to high standard.
- New supplier abroad, making initial contacts.
- Reviewing supplier performance, on time deliveries, pack quantity’s, prices etc.
**Experience**:
- Proven experience as a Purchaser or in a similar procurement role
- Strong negotiation skills to secure favourable terms with suppliers
- Proficiency in using procurement systems
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices
- Familiarity with logistics operations and transportation processes
