The purpose of this role is to provide a flexible approach to teaching delivery, facilitation and support for clinical skills activities team and to wider DERI teams.

To assist in the development and teaching delivery of clinical skills and DERI programmes and structures that support this training for all staff groups across the Trust in line with Trust policy.

Established in 2003 East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust (ELHT) is a large integrated health care organisation providing high quality acute secondary healthcare for the people of East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen.

This role will suit someone who’s ready to lead by example and engage and empower others. The role will be based over two teams, the Clinical Skills Team and the Safer Handling Team, supporting the delivery of training in both those areas.

**Main duties of the role include**:
To provide support across the Trust in designing and delivering quality learning initiatives that meet organisational needs as identified through the divisional training needs analysis based on core and essential skills requirements.

Work with staff and managers in directorates and departments to embed clinical skills and resuscitation, and safer handling training and associated policies across the organisation.

To support the production of clinical skills, resuscitation, and safer handling training reports against Trust and divisional agreed targets.

To ensure there are clear learning outcomes identified and the return on investment of all learning activity and this is measured, recorded, and reported.

To support the Trust’s Education Strategy, Healthier Pennine Lancashire Health and Care People Strategy associated work plans.

Support cultural development through embedding of the Trust vision and values (behaviours) and People Plan when supporting individuals and delivering training.

To design, develop, deliver teaching in, and facilitate additional training programmes as necessary. This includes the design and delivery of bespoke clinical skills and resuscitation training programmes as directed by the Clinical Education Lead and Safer Handling Lead.

Develop and implement appropriate learning methodologies to create an inclusive learning environment for all.

Document the training provided and maintain accurate records and information systems.

To work with the Clinical Education Lead, Clinical Skills and Preceptorship Lead to develop and review evaluation processes for clinical skills and associated training, ensure training is consistently meeting the needs of the Trust standards and workforce.

Assist in the identification of areas of need and non-compliance in respect of competency assessment of clinical skills and ensure they are prioritised.

Provide educational representation on governance and other steering groups providing reports and action plans as required.

Responsible for the preparation of the teaching and learning environment including where necessary the setting up and the taking down of teaching equipment in the classroom.

Monitor and replenish course materials including teaching aids and consumables. Including the ordering of consumables through the NHS supply chain and e-procurement.

Support the delivery of simulation based training programmes for non - UK trained staff for example NMC OSCE preparation programme.

Assists with the delivery of simulated training.

Advertises courses on the Learning Hub including room bookings.

Assist in the delivery of infection prevention and control training including ANTT and FFP3 mask fitting.
