**Adecco'**s specialist **Property Services Division - North** are delighted to be partnering exclusively with **Wakefield District Housing** as we assist them in the recruiting a permanent **Services Director - Technical Services** to take the lead for their large in-house planned maintenance function.
We are looking for an outstanding leader to help us to successfully deliver our services to meet the needs of our customers and the business.
The incoming Services Director will have the right level of experience, an appetite for innovation and a strong focus on the customer experience to develop and drive improvements across Technical Services and the wider business.
**Purpose**
To provide exceptional operational and strategic leadership to Technical Services, being responsible for the delivery of the highest standards of service and value for money in maintaining, repairing and upgrading our properties.
To contribute to continuous development of the business and department, working across teams to achieve the business mission, strategy and objectives in the short, medium and long term.
**Duties**
- Lead the Technical Services functions, either Planned or Maintenance, to deliver high quality repairs, maintenance and/or construction services that are efficient, offer value for money and meet the requirements of the business and our tenants.
- Contribute to the development of strategic priorities, corporate plans and relevant performance measures which support and achieve business improvement with effective controls
- ensure the highest standards of safety and compliance are maintained and meet all statutory and regulatory requirements, current and upcoming.
- provide leadership and management, regularly being physically on site, to teams responsible for delivering high quality maintenance, repair and/or construction services,
- Be an active part of the wider senior management team, collaborating with colleagues across WDH and Technical Services to develop the service in line with the relevant plans.
- Lead, plan and implement a strategic plan for the operational area to deliver excellent, high quality and customer focused services
- Ensure that all activities are delivered in a safe and compliant way in line with all relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Continuously review service delivery, defining and implementing short-, medium
- and long-term projects to improve all areas of operations.
- Lead on embedding a coaching-based performance management culture, ensuring KPI' are achieved, compliance is embedded, and quality control mechanisms are in place.
- Actively challenge the way things are done to further develop the continuous improvement methodology, reviewing and refining the strategic and operational plans whilst sponsoring the delivery of projects across the service.
- Network externally to identify and incorporate industry best practices into the operational areas through the design and implementation of short-, medium
- and long-term projects.
- Lead on policy and procedure development, implementation and review, innovating to achieve best value for money.
- Manage the preparation of financial planning and ensure that budgets are monitored and controlled effectively within agreed procedures.
- Prepare and implement resource/workload planning models, working with colleagues in relevant departments to ensure continuity, standards of service and value for money on all in sourced and outsourced services.
**Requirements**:
**_Qualifications & Training _**
- A qualification at Level 6 or above (Highly Desirable)
- A relevant Management qualification at Level 7 or willing to work towards
- Project Management Qualification (Highly Desirable)
- Membership of a relevant body, i.e CIOB or willing to work towards
- Relevant Health and Safety Management Qualification
**_Experience_**
- Development of high performing teams through effective employee engagement and a coaching culture
- Lead and deliver a wide range of projects to improve service delivery in an operational environment with a track record of continuous improvement in complex multifunctional teams
- Demonstratable large budget responsibility and commercial acumen
- Developed and delivered strategic and operational plans with effective controls
- Strong communicator - experienced in working with internal and external partners to deliver improved service and performance
- Experience of managing a multi-functional workforce in a similar organisation with Health, Safety and Compliance responsibilities
- Understands the operating environment, business priorities and demands of Technical Services
- Networks and identifies industry best practices, incorporating these into plans and projects
**Salary and Benefits**
- £76,883 plus £3,500 car allowance
- 30 +8 holidays per annum
- 7% employee contribution
- Professional membership fees (relevant to the role) paid for each year up to £1,000
- Private BUPA healthcare where the individual is booked in for an annual health check as part of this.
