An exciting vacancy has arisen for an enthusiastic and well-motivated
Paediatric Dietitian to join our team of dietitians within the UHMB Therapy
services at Royal Lancaster Infirmary. The post holder will be responsible for managing a specialist paediatric clinical caseload.
You will be joining a supportive and experienced bay wide multi-disciplinary team of Paediatric Consultants & medical staff, Nurses, Dietitians and Therapists who are responsible for providing a service across social and health care boundaries.

The post holder will also provide support xbay to Furness General Hospital when necessary.

Your clinical responsibilities will include providing an inpatient service to the paediatric ward and neonatal unit, out-patient clinics including general paediatrics with referrals from acute and primary care.Clinical areas will includenutrition support, enteral nutrition, gastroenterology, food allergies and feeding problemsand some specialist work such as Cystic Fibrosis specialist clinics.

You will also provide support to junior and support staff within the wider Dietetic team. You will use your knowledge and skills to support the learning and development of MDT colleagues and contribute towards updating protocols and resources.
You will have had previous post graduate experience working as a dietitian in paediatrics. Opportunities for extending your skills will be supported where appropriate e.g. training courses, shadowing.

The post is based Royal Lancaster Infirmary and will require you to travel to other sites and clinic locations when required

We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.

Our community services for adults are provided in people’s homes, community centres, clinics, GP Practices, community hospitals and our main hospitals. Our aim is to work with people to help them remain independent, improve their health and manage their conditions through high quality care, advice and support.
