Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

- Develop and design new websites, create website banners and website templates
- Liaise with internal/external clients to discuss website requirements and/or project progress
- Create sample sites, demonstrate and receive feedback about draft sites from the clients
- Design and develop bespoke themes and bespoke modules, web interfaces, plug-ins and apps (when required)
- Maintain existing websites and web pages, and update web portals as needed.
- Perform functionality and styling changes to existing themes/code bases
- Add new content daily across existing websites, create new social media graphics and posts and create graphics for video
- Carry out set-up and configuration of hosting infrastructure, either directly or indirectly and establish methods to ensure appropriate website security and recovery
- Perform cross-browser/device compatibility testing
- Tests website interaction and performance prior to going ‘live’, and monitors and maintains functionality of the website;
- Create and Implement SEO strategies to drive traffic to online pages
- Assist in the research, scoping and quoting of development work.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Excellent creative skills
- and a super keen attention to detail are vital with a strong belief in fundamental web design principals (UI, UX)
- A desire to succeed and passion for this industry always keeping on top of new trends and developments
- Excellent proficiency in HTML and CSS to achieve a high level of build with these tools
- A strong understanding of jQuery and PHP is needed.
- A solid understanding of WordPress and its structure.
- Good knowledge of SEO principles and how to implement these at a core code level
- Good marketing skills that reflect in web design
- Great organisation skills with the ability to work within set time limits and manage multiple projects ensuring all are delivered to a high standard and on time.

Experiences & Qualifications
- Any Bachelor’s degree
- Applicants must have an existing portfolio to demonstrate their skills, ideally showing us previous website designs.
- Development experience with Open Source platforms including: Shopify, Wordpress and Magento and development experience with transactional websites
- Working knowledge of common web standards such as HTML 5, CSS3, PHP, Javascript, JQuery, AJAX, API’s and MySQL databases
- Experience of managing/integrating with 3rd party systems such Order Management, Inventory Management and CRM Systems.
- Application optimisation/ configuration
- Experience of deploying websites via Source Control eg. GitHub
- A creative eye and experience with Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator would be an advantage.
