Finance Assistant

- Hours are Monday - Friday (full time OR reduced hours, possibly to work around school pickups if needbe)

We are recruiting for a lovely business in Luton, who are looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to join their small team. The Finance Manager is really open minded when it comes to who joins them - as long as the person is confident in all areas of ledger work and is looking for a permanent role
Your role will be working closely with the Finance Manager, supporting the day to day running of the finance department. This will touch on management accounts - but they are open to teaching somebody this side of things if needbe.
The role involves:
- Responsible for all ledgers & cashbooks
- Manage & resolve invoice queries/discrepancies
- Liaise with procurement & suppliers
- Monthly review of aged creditors with commentary, ensuring credit balances are closed out and reconciled before month-end
- Prepare weekly supplier payment list against aged creditors & supplier statements
- Prepare weekly timesheets for approval and process timesheets
- Weekly payment runs - supplier & subcontractors
- Monthly payroll preparation & submission for approval
- Setup & verification of new subcontractors
- Run monthly sales batch for review/approval & upload to Sage
- Process weekly bank transactions (DD’s), complete bank reconciliation in Sage & complete month-end bank reconciliation ensuring balances agree
- Assist with the preparation of the monthly management accounts
- Assist with the monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Monthly supplier reconciliation
- Manage companies accounts inbox
- Processing supplier/sales invoices
- Ad-hoc tasks & assisting the finance team were required
- Holiday cover for the finance team.
