**About us**:The Friends of Mary Seacole (The Charity) were founded to support the clients of Mary Seacole Housing Association and various other local charities & organisations that work towards relieving hardship and distress. We aim to organise fundraising events and activities throughout the year that will provide opportunities to network and ultimately raise money for the Association. We also support various fetes, festivals, and functions in Luton throughout the year.

**Purpose of the role**: As a Fundraising Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in fostering strong relationships within the community to support our charity's fundraising efforts. Your primary responsibility will be to engage with individuals, groups, and businesses in the community to raise awareness and funds for our cause. You will utilise your excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building skills to cultivate meaningful connections and partnerships that drive fundraising success.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Community Outreach**: Proactively reach out to individuals, community groups, schools, businesses, and other organisations to introduce them to our cause and cultivate ongoing support.
- **Relationship Building**: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing donors, sponsors, and partners, as well as identify and develop relationships with new supporters.
- **Fundraising Events**: Plan, organise, and execute fundraising events such as charity walks, galas, auctions, and community gatherings to engage donors and raise funds.
- **Volunteer Management**: Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to support fundraising initiatives and events, ensuring a positive and rewarding experience for all involved.
- **Campaign Development**: Collaborate with the fundraising team to develop creative and effective fundraising campaigns tailored to the interests and needs of the community.
- **Grant Writing**: Assist in researching and writing grant proposals to secure funding from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
- **Donor Stewardship**: Implement strategies to recognise and thank donors for their contributions, ensuring ongoing engagement and support.
- **Community Education**: Educate the community about our organisation's mission, programs, and impact to inspire support and involvement.
- **Data Management**: Maintain accurate records of donor interactions, contributions, and other relevant information using fundraising software or databases.
- **Other**: Undertake any other tasks as required by the Charity, in accordance with the level of responsibility essential to this position.

**Qualifications/Requirements**:

- Qualification in Social Care or equivalent (understanding of people needs who face Multiple disadvantages) and/ or Business Administration Level 3 or equivalent.
- 2 years previous experience in fundraising and or community engagement, sales, or marketing.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Passion for our mission and a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the community.

**Additional Information**:

- This position may require occasional evening and weekend work, as well as travel within the community (with advanced notice).
- A valid full driver's license and access to own vehicle is required.
- Background check and/or clearance may be necessary depending on the Charities requirements.
- Remote and Flexible hybrid working patterns are available (24 hours office based / 16 hours remotely)
