**The Company**:
We are thrilled to be supporting a global business with a base here in the North East in their search for an experienced Freight Controller.
A newly created role, the Freight Controller will play a vital part in helping the business to move forward in their supply chain and build on their existing success. This is a hybrid role with 3 days working in the office on site and 2 days remotely.
**The Role**:
Working on the manufacturing site, the Freight Controller will have the following responsibilities:

- Manage the coordination of shipments and booking in of finished goods from our clients warehouses to 3rd Party customers and distributors in compliance with domestic and global Customs laws and procedures
- Provide guidance on most suitable transport methods to meet customer’s requirements
- Manage the delivery performance, economy and accuracy of external hauliers/vendors in line with company targets
- Support the Stock team with the planned movement of goods in line with stock requirements

**The Person**:
This is an exciting opportunity to build a Freight role an implement changes and improvements to help the business run more effectively. Some of the skills and attributes we are looking for are:

- At least 5 years’ experience working in a Global Logistics environment
- Experience negotiating and building relationships with hauliers for best performance and cost control
- Expert knowledge of all forms of Export & Import Documentation inc, Incoterms, HMRC Regulations
- Good working knowledge of shipment requirements of hazardous materials
- Solve logístical complications in a logical and proactive manner
- Demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent Communicator both internal and external customers
- A knowledge of Syteline an advantage
