Switchboard Operator

Band 2 Switchboard Operator (part-time 30 hours per week)

You must be available to work all shifts including evenings, and weekends and be able to operate as a lone worker once trained.

We are a team of approximately 15 people working varying shifts covering a 24/7 switchboard.

We are a very friendly team who all work to help each other.

Connecting and transferring internal and external callers to the trust.

Responsible for clinical emergency calls, fire alarms, medical gas alarms, and lift entrapments.

You must be able to remain calm under pressure.

Cover the hospital Main Reception when needed

To provide the Trust with an efficient and effective 24-hour telephonist service, which assists and advises both incoming and internal callers, connects them to the appropriate extension and administrators emergency callouts.

To be responsible for manning switchboard consoles, assisting, advising and connecting callers to the Trust switchboard, for administrating emergency callouts and for main entrance reception duties.
