Are you seeking a challenging and varied role to help TfGM make intelligent decisions when shaping the future of travel in Greater Manchester?

**Your role**
As a Senior Transport Planner within TfGM’s Appraisal team, you’ll assist in appraising the costs and benefits of potential transport schemes. The role is data driven and you’ll help develop innovative and robust ways of measuring benefits of schemes, building on well-established national and local guidance, to ensure the value of transport spending in Greater Manchester is understood. As part of the Modelling and Analysis team, you will work with internal partners throughout TfGM and alongside external partners.

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) oversees transport in Greater Manchester, delivering and improving transport services, facilities and information to make travel easier for everyone. This is a busy and exciting time for us: under the devolution agreement, and with Greater Manchester at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse, transport will play a vital role in supporting growth and prosperity in the UK’s largest regional economy outside London.

Transport Strategy is expanding its Modelling and Appraisal team as part of an ambitious and wide-ranging work programme. We have an integral role in the decision making process at TfGM to support the growth aspirations of the UK’s largest regional economy outside London.

**What you’ll bring**

You will have experience of appraisal and analysis, ideally in a transport relevant industry, and the role can grow with your experience. You will have a broad experience of analysis techniques and be comfortable with handling large data sets and the ability to communicate complex appraisal outputs to varied audiences through written reports, verbally and through presentations. A flexible and proactive approach is also important.

- This is permanent role with a starting salary of** **between **£37,435 to £49,649** per annum depending on experience
