**Due to growth of business we are recruiting for an additional Claims Handler to join our Trade Credit Claims team based in London. We are looking for a self-sufficient individual with great communication skills who has experience of working in thisspace.**

The Claims department seek to be market-leaders in the provision of an efficient, cost-effective and professional service to our brokers and clients. Our vision is to be the most customer focused, agile and value adding claims team in the market. We striveto be pro-active and flexible in the management of claims whilst maintaining our integrity. The claims team works closely with the underwriting team to facilitate communication and exchange of ideas, and is an integral part of the product and customer servicedelivered to our clients.

The TCPRS claims team manages claims across several offices where Markel also write trade credit, political risk and surety. We have offices in London, Dubai, Singapore and in the US and see matters emanating from a variety of different sectors and jurisdictions.We are closely aligned with our underwriters, insureds and brokers, taking care of reschedulings, restructurings and buyers in financial difficulties at an early stage to help mitigate potential losses. The team is also responsible for handling claims andrecoveries, often utilising professional resource such as expert loss adjusters and lawyers to assist.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Holding meetings and calls with key insureds and brokers to assess debtor accounts and review collection strategy and any required follow-up correspondence.
- Ensuring all claims related work is fully documented and recorded and that the internal claims system is updated with appropriate narrative and financial information.
- Reviewing, processing and authorising fees in respect of our service provider.
- Having responsibility for handling your (and if applicable other team members') claims and notifications in accordance with the MINT claims and reserving philosophy, Markel Style, the Claims Handling Manual and all regulatory requirements.
- Raising claims to your manager, where appropriate, for input on strategy and/or reserving.
- Driving, facilitating and personally delivering a customer focused approach to claims, which is measurable through speed of service and open, honest and personable communications with all brokers and (re)insureds.
- Producing good quality and informative narratives and information on key claims, claims developments and important metrics, ensuring this is forwarded as appropriate to management (whether to your direct manager or beyond).
- Collaborating closely with underwriting colleagues, including feeding back on claims experiences, contract wordings, claims data or feedback for any renewal or new business. In addition, you will be interacting with placing and claims brokers to assistin developing positive relationships and knowledge about the quality of our claims management at Markel.
- Collaborating with our actuarial and outwards reinsurance teams, ensuring that they are all aware of new notifications and significant developments
- Bordereaux management regarding overdue buyer accounts and collections

**What we're looking for**:

- A 2.1 degree or above (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of claims operations and claims assessment.
- Experience of claims handling within the Trade Credit Insurance market.
- A dynamic individual, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to communicate and work with brokers and senior management.
- Good attention to detail, analytical and strong organisational skills.
- Good level of Excel ability.
- Experience with collection of debts and recoveries.
- Experience across a broad range of sectors and jurisdictions.
