We’re looking for a part-time claims handler to join our team for a 12 month FTC.
The role will involve handling insurance claims from cradle to grave, liaising with clients, insurers and loss adjusters to provide a first-class claims service. 90-95% of the claims are property claims but there will also be some liability and financial lines claims.
We will require 15 hours of work per week. Ideally this is 3 hours per day, 5 days per week but there is some flexibility on this.
Our office is in the City of London. Attendance in the office will only be required a maximum of one day per week. The rest of the time working remotely is acceptable. From time to time a site visit may be required.
Duties
- Be the first point of contact for clients in the reporting of all types of claim, ensuring they receive prompt and accurate advice on how to progress the claim
- Liaise and negotiate with insurers and loss adjusters on client claims and chase for settlement.
- Deal with claims enquiries from clients, insurers and other third parties in a professional and timely manner
- Actively monitor progress on outstanding claims and provide timely and accurate feedback to clients and account handlers/executives
- Ensure all required documentation in support of claims are dispatched to insurers
- Maintain client records with up-to-date information regarding claims history
- Control your own diary system ensuring all items are followed up by the due dates.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience within the insurance industry, and a minimum of 1 year in a Claims Handling Role
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills, particularly over the phone
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills
- The ability to function well in a team environment
- Experience using Acturis
