**Salary Scale: £35,000 - £48,000 (depending on qualifications & experience)**

Bettws Lifehouse, an independent Special School, is looking for an outstanding qualified SENDCo. The position will be based at our Kingsland Grange site in Shrewsbury. The successful person may be required to work across the Keys Stages for pupils who have specific learning needs in small nurture groups from aged 5 to 18 years.
- the school’s provision for SEND students is compliant with the SEND Code of Practice
- the school’s SEND information for each pupil is maintained, disseminated and is regularly reviewed.
- They contribute proactively to creating and maintaining a climate for learning where pupils can thrive and achieve their full potential.
- they develop effective long and short-term plans for SEND development and resourcing, including realistic and challenging targets for improvement.
- data is analysed to facilitate the progress of pupils, implementing plans to support and monitor pupils who are not achieving their targets, and evaluating the impact of those plans.
- They liaise with school staff to identify students with potential undiagnosed/unmet learning needs and implementing processes, including EHCP annual reviews, to ensure those needs are identified and met.
- They facilitate effective systems of communication, including feedback about pupils’ learning, to inform future planning within the SLT across the wider school.
- they provide regular information to the Headteacher on the evaluation of effectiveness of provision for students with SEND to inform policy and planning.
- They coordinate, chair and report on annual reviews of Education Health Care Plan and Statements of SEND
- They contribute to the liaison with Health, Social Care and other professional services, in partnership with the Wellbeing Lead and Head Teacher / Faculty Manger
- They contribute to therapeutic interventions, in partnership with the Assistant Head (Mental Health & Wellbeing and the Faculty Manger
- They Identify pupils specific SEND and support teachers by providing information and contributing to TAC meetings to help support identification of learning difficulties.
- They develop training and teaching tools to aid in the delivery of pupil SEND objectives and responsibilities to staff members, ensuring a consistent school wide approach.
- They support relevant staff & monitor the review of progress towards PCPs, including information-sharing with pupils and parents/carers so that they are kept up-to-date and informed of termly progress towards outcomes and any developments

Our pupils have a range of challenges from moderate learning difficulties to social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and may present challenging behaviours.
