**West Suffolk College**are currently looking for a **Lecturer of Counselling**to join the team based in **Bury St Edmunds.**You will join us on a **full time, permanent**basis and in return, you will receive a **competitive salary**.

**About the Lecturer of Counselling role**:
Due to the success of our counselling degree, we are expanding our current academic team and are looking to appoint an additional enthusiastic Counsellor, or Psychotherapist, ideally with UKCP/BACP membership to continue the success of the counselling curriculumoffer within University Studies at West Suffolk College.

You will deliver on our established BA (Hons) in Counselling. You will join the Department of Health and Human Sciences and enter a friendly and supportive team of counsellors and colleagues, who play key roles in the delivery and ongoing development ofthe courses in the department.

You will take on the role as **Lecturer of Counselling** with support from the Course Leader, with whom you will work closely. You will be actively involved in curriculum development and design, creatively considering teaching and learning withina dynamic team. You will be involved in preparing students for professional employment and your role will include being a Personal Academic Tutor, to support and encourage students to achieve their potential. Dependant on experience and qualifications, youmay also have the opportunity to supervise students with their dissertations.

**What we are looking for in our Lecturer of Counselling**:

- A relevant honours degree or equivalent qualification in Counselling and / or Psychotherapy.
- It is a requirement that all new entrants to teaching obtain the Certificate in Education (or equivalent) within 2 years (if full time) or 4 years (if part time) of taking up the post.
- Be a Counsellor and/or Psychotherapist.
- Professional experience in Counselling, and / or Psychotherapy, or related field.
- Have practical Counselling experience and Current practice in counselling, or Psychotherapy.
