We are looking for a full time Psychiatry Teaching Fellow to join our Medical Education Team in CNWL - Milton Keynes

This is an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Fellow to facilitate and deliver undergraduate teaching activities within our Milton Keynes Psychiatry Services

This is a brand-new role developed to deliver teaching and education to our new medical students arriving from the University of Buckingham (students to start in March 2023)

The role will be supported by a Director of Undergraduate Medical Education and a Medical Education Administrator

The post holder has a key role in facilitating undergraduate educational activities within CNWL-MK but also more widely within the Year 3 Psychiatry course

The post offers extensive teaching opportunities and responsibilities

The post holder will develop their undergraduate education and teaching administration skills, working closely with the CNWL Director of Undergraduate Education.

The post is an education post, however, there is an option of including clinical sessions as part of working week. This will be discussed with the postholder.

**The Trust is organised in to three Divisions**: Jameson, Goodall and Diggory.
Diggory Division is responsible for the delivery of Mental Health, Addictions and Community services in Milton Keynes, as well as Addictions services, Sexual Health/HIV and Health and Justice services in London and Surrey.

As a Division we meet on a weekly basis with our services to support staff to deliver safe services and empower teams to promote staff wellbeing and have a learning and improvement culture.

Facilitate the Year 3 introductory lecture programme at the start of each rotation to a cohort
Support the Block Lead (Psychiatry) to ensure the smooth running of the lecture programme

Develop, enhance and evaluate the lecture programme.

Deliver teaching on a variety of topics that is clinically focused, stimulates interest in Psychiatry and supports students to meet learning outcomes as highlighted within their curriculum

Explore new and innovative techniques to deliver the curriculum digitally, including the use of virtual clinics and teaching methods

Develop formative assessments within CNWL by leading on the provision of a centralised mock-PACES (clinical exam) sessions

Host revision lectures and exam practice sessions (usually students taking re-sit exams)

Proactively support the setting of both written and clinical exams for Year 3

Facilitate sessions on Ethics (during each rotation)

Support the development of the curriculum

Develop teaching material and deliver lectures to students accessing the curriculum and gaining experience of Psychiatry from Year 3 onwards

Provide support to trainees engaged in teaching

Facilitate a weekly Balint group session for students.

Support consultant supervisors to provide academic support / mentoring to students experiencing welfare / health difficulties

Provide support and training to core trainees engaged in teaching.

Develop e-learning resources where appropriate
