**Role Purpose**:
The J&J Medical business has a total sales value of ~$650m and a sales team of ~450, split across 23 platforms.

The Contracts & Tenders Team is an integral part of the Commercial Business Team. They drive a leading-class internal and external customer experience, with the customer mantra being ‘easy to do business with.'

**What you will be doing**:
**Shape the Tender**:

- Proactively support the pre-tender phase; attend meetings and provide information as appropriate
- Act as a key point of contact through a central mailbox and dedicated customer tender portals concerning contracts.
- Review the evaluation criteria for each tender submission and ensure requirements are fulfilled, leading to successful tenders.
- Review legal and commercial content of the tender documents to limit J&J risk and, where necessary, seek legal guidance.
- Coach non-commercially aligned teams on the tender process and how to adhere to its guidelines.

**Make the Tender**:

- Source, apply, submit, implement and manage tenders within specified deadlines
- Work with Pricing Teams to ensure all prices are complete and authorised.
- Produce detailed reports on tenders and proposals for Trust’s and internal customers.
- Proactively manage the tender from start to finish, using a Project Management approach, in collaboration with the field based Commercial Organisation, Marketing, Supply Chain and the wider business, ensuring completion and driving value-added content on each submission
- Follow the SOP for the tender process.
- Ensure maintenance of a tender response database for the DPS business (based on alignment)
- Manage day-to-day relationships with Customers, Sales and Marketing Teams and Commercial Services, keeping each group informed of any relevant changes/developments in contracts
- Work closely with other relevant internal business partners to evolve a Value Proposition which demonstrates all current value offerings
- Produce tender summaries for use by internal teams and manage internal value catalogue

**Evaluate the Tender**:

- Upon final contract award support, the bid documentation is set up and loaded into the Contract Manager System where necessary.
- Oversee tender debriefs; organise debrief meetings, review awarded scores and collate debrief data to drive process and tender submission improvements. When required, attend post-tender meetings with the Commercial and Sales teams.

**Contracting & Due Diligence**:

- Provide all Contractual Information such as period terms, products awarded and route to market as requested by the Business.
- Manage the Contract Extension Process

**Stakeholder Relationships**:

- Strong relationships to be formed with Commercial, Product/Marketing and Sales teams
- Liaise as required with other departments such as Regulatory, Legal and Finance
- Be a part of the broader Strategic Capabilities Team
- Maintain strong Customer relationships, including any 3rd Party representatives.

**Qualifications**:
**What you will bring**:

- University degree with an emphasis in Marketing, Economics, Systems and or Finance preferred
- Solid experience in Tendering, Contracting, Analytics, and project Management within Medical Devices and Pharmaceuticals is preferred, as is a proven track record in change management.
- Solid understanding of healthcare market dynamics
- High learning agility
- Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix environment where collaboration is needed is strongly preferred. Ability to interact with and influence senior leadership teams required.
