**The opportunity**: A great opportunity to lead a dynamic and vibrant team of Personnel Security Vetting Officers to deliver consistent, high quality services for the management of MBDA UK PerSec policy.

You will be part of a highly motivated and progressive team who are the first layer of security in ensuring any personnel risks are identified and managed, from pre-employment background checks to ongoing aftercare of security cleared employees.

Confident in your own abilities, with operational experience and able to deliver under pressure. Excellent communication skills to supervise a team and deputising when needed to support the Personnel Security Manager with the area's strategy for MBDA.

**The role**: Your day to day role will be to support the business obtaining HMG BPSS checks, National Security Vetting (NSV) for all new and current employees. Ensuring the delivery of team and business objectives for BPSS and NSV. You'll work closely with the PersonnelSecurity Manager in handling all confidential and complex vetting enquiries and risk management, including the maintenance of any defence industry standards for FSC and IPSA.

Supporting the implementation and leadership programmes to embed appropriate levels of security and insider threat awareness across MBDA. Leading briefings and guidance to partners on PerSec to ensure compliance of defence industry regulations. Working withthe team to develop, co-ordinate and implement systems, policies, procedures and efficiency standards.

Starting and managing ongoing project management for third party solutions for PerSec and Insider risk, contributing to multi-functional projects as required. Maintaining a positive relationship with all the relevant internal departments and external bodiesincluding MOD, UKSV and CPNI.

**What we're looking for from you**:

- Solid understanding of HMG BPSS, NSV processes and PerSec in accordance with the national standards for MOD and Defence Industry
- Excellent communication influencing, negotiating and presentational skills - internally and externally
- Experience in leading a team, motivating and mentoring individuals to improve overall performance
- A professional meticulous approach, with a keen eye for detail
- A background in leading and supervising the compliance of identified key performance indicators
- An understanding of statistical analysis of workloads and patterns of business activity
- Ability to assimilate complex information and make informed decisions
- Able to work under pressure and prioritise work as required
- 'Can do' positive attitude for success

**Desirable**:

- Relevant PerSec and Security Risk Management experience or qualification
- Presentational experience for training and briefings
- PerSec awareness for the insider risk
- Knowledge and awareness of FSC and IPSA requirements
- Experienced on the use of electronic Vetting Databases and multi IT platforms
- Professional management qualification through Chartered Management Institute (CMI) or equivalent
- Ability to achieve DV clearance
