- **Job Summary**_
- _The post holder will be required to perform a wide range of first level supervisor duties associated to the provision of Make ready Services. The post holder will develop a one team environment, nurturing, supporting and empowering our staff to achievethe required skills to meet service needs and encourage staff to engage in personal development._
- _Post holders will ensure all practices and procedures are maintained to Trust standards with a requirement to work with minimum supervision, flexibly and use their initiative in decision making, in line with the strategic direction as informed by themake ready group lead._
- _Primary duties will include the day-to-day site supervisory duties which includes the supervision of make ready operatives, the monitoring and auditing of consumables, the monitoring/auditing of all vehicle cleaning activities, including assurance ofeffective infection prevention and control to meet the current Trust standards. In particular, the role is responsible for: _
- _Identifying short falls of staffing, equipment/consumables and ensure maintenance compliance. _
- _To act autonomously to ensure the continuation of Make Ready Services within the area of responsibility to maximise ambulance availability for the delivery of patient care. _
- _Ensuing sufficient stock is held to meet operations needs and to order stock as required to always ensure sufficient availability. _
- _The serviceability of emergency ambulances, equipment, and consumables with availability levels exceeding trust standards._

**Leadership & Management**
- Plan and organise own workload including the prioritisation of tasks, encompassing flexibility where required.
- To supervise all, make ready operative cleaning activities including compliance with all vehicles

cleaning preparation standards and Infection Prevention and Control activities.
- To supervise all, make ready operatives within the allocated AVP Centres or across other locations.
- To complete first line supervisor administration and documentation (electronic and paper based) relating to functions such as payroll, absence, annual leave, training, quality control, recruitment, retirement/leavers, staff reports and work scheduling.
- To plan and co-ordinate the daily through-put of vehicles for make ready operatives in conjunction with the make ready group lead, operations managers, operational scheduling and fleet supervisors.
- Monitor and supervise the quantity of work, work content and hours of attendance of all make ready operative staff.
- To arrange cover for absence using any other available provision from other stations/sites or areas.
- Carry out make ready operative appraisals and personal development reviews.

**Finance**
- To order goods and consumables in accordance with delegated authority to ensure sufficient stock are always available.
- Ensuring accurate records are maintained when the make ready staff book out products from the depot store, monitors and approves the orders for stock of medical equipment/consumables on an IT system, accepting delivery, recording, storing, replenishingitems as necessary and filing associated paperwork appropriately.
- To undertake routine and ad-hoc stock takes to validate stock levels in accordance with the Trust’s standing financial instructions.
- Reviews and approves timesheets and claim forms for the depot’s make ready staff.
- Identifies and records losses or damage to assets.

**Communication & Relationship**
- To establish and develop good working relationships at all levels and in all disciplines throughout the trust as appropriate to facilitate the roles of the department.
- Convey a personal commitment to embrace the EEAST values and behaviours detailed within the EEAST behavioural framework in a meaningful and practical way.
- To liaise with Managers and Supervisors daily and act upon any specific tasks required.

**Health, Safety, Security and Risk Management**
- To maintain current knowledge relevant to the Trusts regulatory and legislative commitments. To continually review information, relevant policies and legislation etc; identifying any changes, assessing impact of changes and proposing amendments to policyand/or practice.
- Contribute to the design and effectiveness of the process, procedures, and quality standards of the make ready service, ensuring all meet HSE and CQC standards.
- To comply with Health and Safety Legislation. To identify any hazards that present a risk to staff, patients, or visitors to line manager. Ensure appropriate steps are taken to protect the environment, the health and safety of staff, patients, and visitors
- To use correctly and ensure the adequate availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to undertake the activities of the role. Where deficiencies exist ensures prompt reporting action to the line manager.
- To safely move ambulances around the site for refuelling, maintaining levels of vehicle consumables, cleaning, parking, vehicle testing and maintenance.
