To be clinically responsible for the specialist assessment, formulation and interventions for service users who engage in behaviours that challenge and/ or mental health problems who live within liberty care Contribute to the multi-disciplinary team process which is service user centred and underpinned by effective risk management e.g. adherence to codes which govern safeguarding and other relevant legislation. Promote the implementation of safe, ethical and respectful management practices in accordance with good practice guidelines and legal frameworks, where the use of reactive management strategies maybe required and where reductions in all types of restrictive practice are being implemented. Recognise situations that may be detrimental to the health and well-being of the service user and initiate appropriate action.

Provide clinical leadership to other members of staff within the service and ensure the highest possible standard of care to service users. Deliver care that is clinically effective and based on research evidence. Analyse information and summarise this, providing reports to the relevant multi-disciplinary teams. Co-ordinate the assessment and delivery of multi-elemented care programmes and intervention plans prescribed by professionals and ensure they are carried out by the staff team.

Write and present support plans and other relevant reports and make recommendations regarding service users needs. Work in partnership with service users, carers and relatives to develop the service users' skills and create flexible service delivery based on the service users needs, wishes and choices. Work with others in the multi-disciplinary team to ensure that plans are monitored, reviewed, and amended as appropriate. Establish and maintain good working relationships with service users, relatives, advocates and the multi-professional/agency team, utilising customer care skills.

Develop own skills required for the provision of specialist healthcare e.g. functional analysis, formulation, intervention planning, management of epilepsy, active support, autism, capable environments and BSP-CAT. Liase with the multi-agency Community Learning Disability Teams in delivery of all aspects of care provided by Liberty care. Liaise with all members of Liberty Care staff team in the development of policies, procedures, care pathways and protocols.

To ensure a focus upon proactive working, crisis prevention, early intervention and relapse prevention. To undertake service evaluation, clinical audit and research projects related to behaviours that challenge and/ or mental health problems. Assist the Operational Manager and others in the collection of statistical information re trends and service provision. To liase with key services, service users and other professionals and to provide a means through which both service users and staff are kept informed of change and development.

To ensure that Clinical Governance is integral to all activities. Assist all Liberty Care Managers in the review of care provision and in service development. Maintain professional registration as appropriate.
