We are looking to recruit a full time, fixed term, Midwife - Maternity Perinatal Mental Health based at University Hospital Wishaw within the Maternity/Neonates department.

The postholder will assist the Advanced Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Midwife in the delivery of high quality evidence based care to woman, the wider midwifery and multidisciplinary team in issues relating to perinatal mental health and MNPI practice. A key element of the post will be the coordination and delivery of training in perinatal mental health for the maternity and neonatal workforce to enable them to provide holistic care that optimises mental as well as physical health. The post holder will be involved in providing individualised patient care and in the planning, implementing and evaluating clinical care in the perinatal mental health/MNPI area of practice with the supervision and support of the Advanced Specialist PMH Midwife, ensuring compliance with NHS Lanarkshire’s policy and procedures and maintaining statutory requirements in accordance with the NMC.

**Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job**:

- Registered Midwife with valid NMC Registration
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
- Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
- Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
- Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
- Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
- The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
- Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective time management skills
- Working knowledge of basic information technology

**Please note**: The postholder must have the Ability to work varied shift pattern including 12 hour shifts and be a Car driver with valid driving licence
