We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Receptionist to provide cover for a comprehensive reception function as part of a frontline team to deliver high quality service. The post holder will liaise extensively with patients, and staff and other health professionals.

This assignment is 3 months initially, with possible extension and hours are Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week.

You will be working on aBank (0 hour base) contract with Staffing Solutions.

In return we can offer you a competitive pay rate of£13.33 - £ 22.54 (Inclusive of 12.5% annual leave uplift WTD and enhancements)with the option of being paid weekly or monthly and a range of opportunities, training and experiences.
- To create a welcoming and positive atmosphere for the outpatient reception.
- To advise and direct visitors/clients to appropriate waiting areas.
- To provide a confidential and efficient service when dealing with enquiries.
- Answer the telephone, taking messages and helping with enquiries.
- To enter room bookings electronically.
- Use CareNotes to search for clients and input data as required.
- To issue temporary passes as required and ensure returned.
- Any other reasonable tasks as determined by the Office Manager.

Staffing Solutions is Oxford Health’s internal temporary staffing bank, we source our own flexible workers to cover temporary administrative placements in a variety of areas across the Trust.

We help the organisation meet all its temporary staffing needs, allowing teams to continue to provide high quality care to service users.

- Following a period of training, ensure you are familiar with all reception areas across the service and relevant procedures.
- Deal with all enquiries in a professional and empathetic manner. These may be via telephone, face to face or written contact.
- As the first point of contact you will need to consider a wide range of information to ensure each patient’s needs are progressed or referred on. This includes initial handling of complaints.
- Use advanced communication skills when dealing with patients who may have special needs or exhibit challenging behaviour.
- Use a networked computerised system to manage multiple diaries and input patient information.
- Receive patients and prepare or advise them as necessary for their clinical care.
- Ensure all documentation is completed, where appropriate.
- Assist patients to use interpreting facilities when necessary.
- Obtain personal details and other sensitive social and medical information, often of a complex nature. Handle all information in accordance with relevant legislation and with high regard for confidentiality.
- Obtain and relay information from carers/relatives to the relevant clinician.
- Provide information and advice about Adult Mental Health services and access to NHS emergency Mental Health, including out of hours services.
- Take responsibility for security of petty cash.
- Sort and distribute incoming mail and process outgoing mail.
- Provide general clerical support including letter writing correspondence when necessary.
