We are currently recruiting for a HLTA in a small independent special educational needs school. The school is located in the Horley area and caters for pupils who have a range of needs including autism spectrum conditions and associated behaviours. You will be joining a team that take a positive approach to support behaviour and understand that all behaviour is a form of communication, they aim to manage this with compassion whilst maintaining a safe environment.
**Your roles and responsibilities include**:

- Leading in the absence of any Class Teachers across the school whilst provide high quality, challenging and differentiated educational activities aiming at pupils achieving their full potential in all areas of learning.
- Assist the Class Teacher with carrying out the professional duties of a teacher as outlined in the Professional Standards for Teachers.
- Monitor pupils conduct and behaviour throughout the learning process and intervene to resolve highly complex, difficult, or very challenging issues and to keep records of incidents, health, behaviour etc. as necessary. Physical intervention training will be provided.
- Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils according to the school’s policies, including safeguarding.

**Salary**: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
