Royston, United Kingdom PointWire Full time

**Company description**

PointWire is a leading provider of cyber security products and services to large & medium businesses. Our team have experience in delivery of large scale endpoint security systems rollouts to several FTSE100 and central government organisations. Our culture is simple; we strive to ensure that our customers and partners always think we're awesome. New ideas and capabilities are always encouraged, and we always strive to achieve our goals; even when others throw in the towel. We have a strong belief in lowering environmental impact and so even before many companies were forced to consider remote working, PointWire adopted a remote work first approach. We give our team unrivalled flexibility to plan and manage their work around their own lives; actively encouraging health and fitness as part of your work day. What we need from our new starters are goal driven, highly motivated adults who know when a deadline means a late night, they also know they're working for a business who doesn't expect an 0800 start the next morning. You should be someone who takes pride in your work and expect that great work output will result in great rewards. Coasters and bench warmers need not apply However, if you believe you can rise to the challenge of being part of a business with huge potential - we're eager to hear from you.

**Job description**

This is a security and technology position aligned to the role of a Technology Associate. The individual should have between 1-5 years relevant experience in an IT and / or cyber security role and be looking to step up their career in a way which means they are looking to get a load of training and investment, and help to deliver some amazing results.

**About PointWire**

PointWire delivers cyber security services and solutions to a number of different organisations in both the private and public sector. Since we established ourselves in 2019, we have partnered with several leading software providers in the cyber security space including Tanium, Trend Micro, Microsoft, and Deep Instinct. Our clients tend to range from 100s to 1000s of employees and devices; with our services ultimately helping to augment the capabilities of in-house security and IT teams so that they can be more effective with less resources.

**What this role entails**

Our goal is to continue to expand our business and offering by deepening the relationships we have built with these existing partners and growing our client base. This will include, but isn't limited to, the following activities:

- Assisting in the delivery of our managed services offering, actioning, or providing support services to our clients.
- Pre sales activities to include demos of the technologies, discovery calls and meetings.
- Security monitoring / daily / weekly / monthly checks
- Assisting with access reviews
- Assisting with implementation of and maintaining any required standards, e.g. ISO 27001
- Responding to support tickets and answering calls
- Assistance in maintaining the service desk software
- General involvement in the technical aspects of the business

**Skills and Experience**:Any technical experience you have will be an advantage but we can teach skills and you will gain experience. Ideally we would be looking for you to have at least the following:

- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- To be a team player
- An understanding of PC operating systems and software and installation, maintenance and repair of operating systems, networks, and programs
- The ability to use logical and creative thought processes to develop solutions
- A strong interest in Cyber Security & Ethical Hacking

**Who you should be**

It feels like every company asks for the same things nowadays and so the following will look familiar from other ads you've probably already seen However, **you must** be prepared to demonstrate these qualities as it will quickly be awkward for everyone if you don't turn out, for example, to be a self-starter. Our team is not big and so the ripples made by any of our team, positive or negative, get felt by everyone. So without further fanfare, we need you to be:

- A self-starter :) [By this, we mean that you're taking initiative, coming to us proactively with ideas, reviewing things in the business that you think should be better and bringing ideas of how we can improve. In return, you can expect that we will never brush your ideas under the carpet without consideration and your positive contributions will always get the praise and credit they deserve.]
- Integrity & Respect for others [We detest misrepresentation; of products, of relationships, and of oneself. You should be honest at all times; even when the truth is hard. Our team are all honest and respectful people who consider each other, and work together towards a common goal. Knowing yourself and being truthful to yourself about who you are, and how you're feeling will be paramount to your success in this area. Expect to work a
