**Job description**:

- An exciting opportunity for an EO Commercial Support team member, with commercial awareness and the ability to support commercial activities, has arisen within the DWP’s Commercial Directorate (CD), Employment Category function.
- This opportunity forms a pivotal role within the category and the post holders will form part of the team's support function. The post holder will work closely with the Commercial Leads (G7) and team on Commercial matters, managing the running of daily and long term operations to fully support the cross-cutting demands.
- The individual will be required to support and ensure the operational implementation and delivery of key corporate commercially related strategies, procurements and in-life management of contracts. In addition, you may be asked to support a number of key cross category business activities, and wider CD and Employment Category activity, having an interest in building your knowledge of DWP Commercial business and demonstrating commitment to advancing the role, within the Employment Category function.

**Cross Category Activity**:

- Understands the risk management process and the appropriate escalation criteria and routes to effectively assist in managing and mitigating risks.
- An understanding of how to contribute and support opportunities to achieving value for money in a commercial context.
- Support the implementation of new systems to share and capture team information (SharePoint).
- Responsible for administering the Cross-Government groups, assurance boards and collating financial information, consolidating and reporting.

**ESSENTIAL SKILLS**
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and in written format.
- Demonstrable ability to efficiently manage competing priorities against demanding timelines.
- Experience of building productive relationships with internal and external Stakeholders.
- Proven knowledge and skills in use of IT - specifically MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Proven experience of reviewing and improving existing processes and implementing new products and procedures.
