Retrofit West CIC is a new community interest company formed by the Centre for Sustainable Energy to accelerate home and building retrofit activity. The West of England Combined Authority has commissioned Retrofit West CIC to deliver a retrofit acceleratorhomeowner advice service across the region.

Retrofit West will establish a one-stop-shop advisory service for homeowners carrying out 'whole house' retrofitting activities on their homes. The service will encourage and support homeowners through the entire process, from initial thoughts about retrofitworks, through planning interventions and on to the completion of installations.

**The Role**

The Managing Director (MD) will be responsible for the overall success and viability of the business. The MD will oversee all business and commercial operations, staff and ventures - recruiting and overseeing the core staff team and developing partner andsupplier relationships.

This post is based at the Retrofit West CIC office in central Bristol (currently hosted by the Centre for Sustainable Energy) but with an opportunity to agree a hybrid working arrangement. (e.g. 50:50 split between office and remote working).

**Responsibilities include**
- Directing and overseeing the businesses activities and operations to ensure that the company is viable and profitable.
- Ensuring profit and loss and cashflow systems are introduced and operated.
- Maximising the benefits the company provides to the community and ensure those benefits are understood, communicated and promoted fully.
- Working with appropriate colleagues, and external stakeholders, to identify and create new business opportunities for Retrofit West.
- Providing leadership which nurtures a thriving, strategically focused business with a culture of high performance and outstanding results.
- To represent Retrofit West to existing and potential funders, partners and other stakeholders,
- Following the initial set up phase, to oversee all recruitment of new staff to retrofit West, to ensure the organisation is appropriately resourced.
- At least two years' experience of working as a Director, Managing Director or at an equivalent level.
- At least 5 years' experience of a senior leadership position in a small to medium sized
- Experience of managing a business or team through a period of financial and staffing growth.
- Experience of complex project delivery, including planning, team and line management, task allocation and budgeting.
- Understanding of energy use in the home and home energy retrofit solutions.
- (Desirable) Practical experience of delivering home energy retrofit services.
- (Desirable)Detailed understanding of the practical issues encountered in retrofit and building physics
