Information Governance Assistant

Provide advice to those requesting information from the Trust under the Data Protection Act and general Information Governance issues.
Supporting the Information Governance Manager and Assistant manager with the workflow for the team adapting to the business requirements as and when required.
Small but busy team who work really well together, position is Hybrid so you will be required to be in the Exeter office at HQ 2-3 times a week.
We are a close team and we work really well together so were looking for someone who will fit right in.
- Assist in the Trust’s data protection disclosure function to ensure the Trust adheres to legislation and meets its performance targets for this area.
- Ensure accurate information is promptly entered into the appropriate system
- Assist in the Trusts archiving function
- Request copies of the relevant records from Clinical Audit other functions within the Trust. Work with other members of staff to ensure information is provided by any deadlines set.
- Search the Trust’s systems to identify relevant records and documents and extract copies as required.
- Ensure the appropriate level of authority and proof of identification is in place before releasing any records.
- Support the promotion and general awareness of Information Governance requirements across the Trust to ensure all staff are aware of their personal roles and responsibilities. Provide advice and guidance as required to staff on Information Governance matters.
- Act as an early warning system for issues that represent a risk to the Trust and liaise with members of the Information Governance team.
- Provide accurate and timely information to managers on IG issues as required and appropriate.
- Have excellent administration and communication skills and an understanding of legislation covering records disclosure and other IG issues.
