Interim Patient Safety Lead

We are excited to be able to offer the opportunity to join our Patient Safety Team. The Trust is in process of planning transition to the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) and as part of the implementation we have a fixed term or secondment opportunity for a Patient Safety Lead.
We are seeking a proactive, dynamic individual who is a strong advocate and has expert experience / or relevant similar work experience in Patient Safety or Clinical Governance.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, motivated person, with excellent and compassionate communication skills.
This is a challenging role within a busy team, but is rewarding to work collaboratively with those affected by patient safety incidents such as staff and patient's/ their families to ultimately identify areas for learning and improvement.
You will work with all members of the patient safety team and staff across the Trust to ensure that the organisation meets the requirements of the Duty of Candour and the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework, ensuring that investigation and learning response standards are met.
Triaging incidents reported daily to identify incidents that meet the Trust Patient Safety Incident Response Plan (PSIRP) criteria and ensuring that these are escalated and the appropriate learning response iscommissioned.
You will be responsible for ensuring that deadlines learning responses and PSIIs are met and that learning response leads / investigators are supported throughout the process.
This list is not exhaustive and the post holder may be required to complete additional tasks to meet the needs of the service which may change as the new Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) is embedded within the Trust.
Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent.
The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 500,000 people living in the south part of West Kent and the north part of East Sussex.
The Trust’s core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs. We work from two main clinical sites: Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. Tunbridge Wells Hospital opened in 2011 and provides single rooms with en-suites for all in-patients - the first of its kind in the country.
