The UK Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF) will support the UK Government’s wider commitment to level up all parts of the UK. Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly will use the SPF investment to deliver “Good Growth” that will move us towards a net zero economy where jobs pay at least the Real Living Wage and where nature recovery and strong communities mean everyone can start well, live well and age well.

The Growth Hub (GH) will be the centre of supporting businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly (CIoS) and consists of a number of strands of activity to deliver the SPF funded programme of business support;
- Investment - Engaging with businesses in CIoS who are ready for SPF investment triaging, carrying out diagnostic activity with businesses, and account managing them through a suite of SPF investment (from grants to direct support) to ensure they grow and contribute to the Good Growth Outputs and Outcomes
- Growth - Engaging with businesses in CIoS which are not investment ready, triaging, carrying out diagnostic activity with businesses, and account managing them through a growth cycle ensuring the are engaged with support on a right time, right basis model.
- Communications - Providing a comprehensive communications function across all business support activity to both attract businesses to the Growth Hub, and in addiction communicate the work and best practice activity that is carried out.
- Contract and Stakeholder Management - Management of organisations directly delivering services on behalf of the GH to ensure compliance and performance. Management of all business support stakeholder relationships to ensure best possible coordination of business support landscape in CIoS, the region and nationally as required.

The post holder will be responsible for all direct interaction with the business client from initial enquiry, to account managing the client through the journey of business support. The post holder will also be involved in directly working with the communications team and partners to ensure a strong and relevant pipeline of businesses accessing the GH service.

Key objectives of the role will include:

- The provision of a high-quality service that focuses on supporting business clients with investment through the SPF and meets the needs of clients in terms of facilitating their access to growth services - working to agreed performance targets
- Achievement of required outputs and outcomes in relation to the SPF activity with responsibility for driving the outputs and outcomes relating to SPF investment with clients.
- Contribute and support activity to ensure a strong pipeline of potential clients
- including targeting of clients as required.
- Monitor own caseload and plan effectively to ensure all targets are met or exceeded and an excellent service is delivered to clients.
- Development and maintenance of a demonstratable expert level of knowledge and expertise in relation to the SPF Business Support programme of activity in addition to the wider knowledge on business support.
- Timely and accurate reporting of work via the GH CRM to ensure compliance at all times with the required measures
- Drive excellence in account management activity, value added and customer service development
- Contribution to growing the market for business support by demonstrating its effectiveness
