Accounts Assistant

Location: Birkenhead (Office-based)

Working Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 35 hours per week

Holidays: 25 days plus Bank Holidays

**Salary**: £24k to 28k

Reporting to: Finance Manager

**Company Overview**:
Our company, based in Birkenhead, is a dynamic organisation with a turnover of £2.5 million. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Accountant to join our team. This role involves managing various financial tasks, with a focus on Sage 50, and providing support to the Finance Manager.

**Responsibilities**:

- Utilise Sage 50 for invoice processing.
- Manage all invoices related to main suppliers.
- Administer weekly payroll for both on-site and off-site engineers, calculating overtime and handling timesheets.
- Maintain Sage 50 Payroll records.
- Finance Support:

- Assist the Finance Manager in preparing monthly management accounts.
- Handle VAT return submissions.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Prepare payments, including accruals.
- Generate weekly reports and profit and loss (P&L) sheets.
- Participate in monthly management meetings.
- Contribute to discussions related to investment decisions.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Proficiency in Sage 50 is essential.
- Previous experience in payroll administration is required.
- Strong knowledge of financial processes, including VAT returns, bank reconciliation, and accruals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and proactive with a relaxed and personable character.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

**Working Environment**:
**Salary**: £25,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
