**Hours**: 40hrs a week

Forming part of the SYNLAB Group and acquired in 2011, Lextox is a well-established ISO 17025 UKAS accredited testing laboratory based in Cardiff. Lextox provide drug, alcohol and DNA testing services for family law cases and childcare proceedings. SYNLABin the UK is a trusted expert in clinical laboratory and medical diagnostic services.

Due to growth, we have a rare and exciting opportunity for an experienced Laboratory Manager to join our team at Lextox, on a full time and permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop, lead and manage all routine laboratory activities aswell as participating positively in continuous improvement within our hard-working team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensuring that the company meets the technical and process requirements of ISO 17025 and UKAS Lab 51.
- Managing all laboratory staff and ensuring that SOP's are maintained and reflect current practice.
- Monitor laboratory performance, internally generated QC samples and any developing trends. Action any non-conformances raised in a timely manner.
- Responsible for ensuring laboratory staff answer client queries concerning their results, in a professional friendly manner and on a timely basis.
- Developing and implementing laboratory staff training plans.
- Responsible for the development and validation of new and existing methods of detection by GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS.
- Working with our research team to help define and implement practice, process and protocol improvements to our workflow in the laboratory.

**Essential Skills and Experience**:

- Minimum of 8 years Laboratory experience with at least 2 years' experience in management of an accredited laboratory.
- Experience in ISO 17025 accredited lab.
- Experience in working within a regulated QMS.
- People management and development of teams and individuals.
- Ability to think both strategically, plan-ahead and make timely decisions with a high-level of attention to detail.

**Desirable**:

- Recognised management qualification.
