**The Opportunity**

As a Risk and Assurance Advisor you’ll effectively plan, design and deliver second line assurance associated with business and data quality risks across the CSRO function. You’ll also provide recommendations that drive effective and efficient controls and processes, drawing on best practice to support the business in its focus on continuous improvement.
- Coordinating the development of CSRO’s annual assurance plan.
- Supporting in the detailed planning, design and delivery of assurance activities within CSRO; ensuring that findings are robust and mitigation plans are developed, embedded, tracked and completed.
- Provide expert support to the Chief Strategy and Regulation Officer and all their functional managers on the risk management reporting process through risk resolver, including identifying and supporting any training requirements.
- Provide expert support to all functional managers on the compliance and assurance process in line with the Cadent Assurance framework.
- Ownership of the monitoring and testing of the CSRO business continuity plan.
- Promoting shared learning across the organisation, contributing to regular planning and risk review meetings with stakeholders to share themes from assurances completed and understanding evolving risks and challenges to inform future assurance coverage.
- Maintain regulatory sharepoint site and regulatory correspondence mailbox. Ensuring that regulatory consultations, decisions, responses, submissions, correspondence etc. is stored effectively and securely in line with policy and best practice.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Accountable for the transactional processes surrounding licence management, business continuity, risk management, compliance management and assurance for the CSRO function as a whole.
- Developing the annual assurance plan for CSRO function.
- Understand Cadent's obligations under Ofgem's Data Assurance Guidance (DAG) and support with the development, collation and submission of our annual Network Data Assurance Reports (NetDAR) to Ofgem.
- Plan, design, implement and deliver second line assurance associated with Cadent's regulatory reporting / submissions to Ofgem.
- Provide recommendations that drive effective and efficient controls across regulatory processes, drawing on best practice to support the business in its focus on continuous improvement.
- Responsible for the licence management process to ensure clear ownership and accountability of licence obligations across Cadent.
- Managing all licence modification directions from Ofgem, making relevant updates to Cadent's Gas Transportation licence and communicating changes effectively.
- Manage Cadent’s regulatory consultation tracker process. Identifying relevant consultations, ensuring clear accountabilities for review/response, tracking/monitoring delivery and facilitating appropriate records retention.
- Undertake technical secretary role for Regulatory Operations including developing and maintaining team planning, action, opportunities/issues and engagement logs.
- Provide support to the Regulatory Operations team on presentational material, records retention and document management systems.
- Supporting Regulatory Reporting (RRP) activities as required.

**What you'll bring**
- Good knowledge and understanding of assurance delivery and practices, internal control frameworks and risk management activities
- The ability to demonstrate strong root cause analysis problem solving techniques
- Experience in change management
- Good understanding of the regulatory environment and key business drivers
- Demonstrable experience of developing successful, long lasting, relationships - including ability to engage, challenge and influence senior managers, deal effectively with resistance to proposals and secure their buy-in and support
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a range of competing priorities within challenging timescales.
