Trauma Triage Practitioner

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for two registered Healthcare Professionals to join the orthopaedic team and support the delivery of a first-class trauma service through the delivery of the virtual fracture clinic (Trauma Triage Clinic, TTC).
This will involve working clinically and to have a role in education, whilst providing a robust telephone support service to outpatients who have either previously been treated by either the Emergency Department (ED) or the nurse-led Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) for a fracture or significant soft tissue injury.
The expectation would be for the post holder to be able to interpret Xray images, access and use clinical systems, then provide information to patients via telephone consultation about their injury, and ensuring appropriate follow up.
They would be expected to take a clinical lead on the development of policies/protocols as necessary for safe care delivery for those patients who are referred to TTC.
To understand and adhere to those clinical policies that influence patient care pathways whilst in the care of ED and fracture clinic.
To collaborate with lead clinicians with appropriate service development projects including audit.
To function as an independent practitioner in accordance to the professional code of conduct/standards of professional practice.

Our clinical staff have a continuing commitment to their patients and for the proper functioning of the Department, sharing a wealth of clinical experience to support staff in their ongoing learning and development.
