Reporting to: Factory Floor Supervisor

Location: Aldridge, West Midlands

Purpose of the Role:
The Factory Floor Assistant is a critical team member responsible for maintaining an organized, efficient, and safe workshop environment. This role requires an individual to perform a variety of tasks ranging from general cleaning and maintenance to assisting with deliveries, collections, and other factory operations.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Workshop Maintenance
- Ensure that the workshop is clean, organized, and free from hazards at all times.
- Clear away waste materials, tools, and equipment after use.
- Regularly inspect tools and equipment for damage or wear and report any issues to the supervisor.

2. General Painting
- Carry out general painting tasks as directed, including prepping surfaces and ensuring even coverage.
- Maintain and clean painting tools and equipment.

3. Deliveries and Collections
- Assist with loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.
- Ensure safe and timely transportation of goods to and from the factory.
- Check and verify delivered goods against purchase orders or invoices.

4. General Assistance
- Provide assistance to other team members as needed, ensuring smooth operations.
- Work closely with the supervisor to identify and fulfill additional tasks or responsibilities.
- Support with ad-hoc tasks as they arise, which might include basic machine operations, inventory checks, or administrative tasks.

Essential Skills
- Valid driver's license for deliveries and collections.
- Basic understanding of health and safety protocols.
- Ability to operate manual and power tools safely.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a factory or workshop setting.
- Familiarity with basic painting techniques and tools.
- Forklift certification or willingness to undergo training.

- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to tasks.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions closely and ask for clarification when needed.

Working Conditions:

- This position may require lifting of heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
- Safety gear like gloves, ear protection, and safety goggles may be required.

**Salary**: £8.74-£11.50 per hour
